Height of moving allowance for tenants changed

Tenants can receive a moving allowance if they are forced to move (temporarily or otherwise) because their rental home, rental trailer or rental pitch is being demolished or renovated. Houseboat dwellers can also claim it if their mooring is discontinued.

The moving allowance is intended to compensate for the costs of moving and redecorating and is a one-time lump sum. The amount is adjusted annually, as of February 28, 2025 to: € 7,673.

Circular rent policy 2025-2026

Every year the Ministry of Housing and Spatial Planning informs municipalities, housing corporations, landlords and tenants (organizations) about the rental price policy that applies to the rental of housing in a given period. This so-called circular contains information on the current rent policy and practical information on how to properly apply these rules. Among other things, the circular deals with the maximum permitted rent increase, maximum rent limits in the housing valuation system (wws) and the liberalization regulation before and after the introduction of the middle segment as of July 1, 2024.
